Six die in clash between Mexican soldiers, gangsters
Six gangsters died and one soldier was injured when an army patrol clashed with suspected gang members in northeastern Mexico state Tamaulipas, Xinhua reported according to the army's statement on Friday.
The statement said that the clash took place Thursday afternoon in Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, a city near Laredo in the U.S. state of Texas.
The statement said that the soldiers were attacked by the suspected gangsters who hid in the grass close to the main road in Barriales neighborhood.
Following the clash, soldiers seized a Dodge Ram, seven rifles, 38 cartridges, and a grenade launcher.
