A substantial fire broke out on Saturday at a major shopping center known as China Mall in Crown Mines, just west of central Johannesburg in South Africa, Xinhua reported.
Johannesburg emergency services rushed seven fire engines to the scene after the fire was reported to emergency services at about 8 a. m. on Saturday.
The firefighters extinguished the fire in the afternoon.
No one was injured in the blaze as people from the neighboring buildings had been evacuated.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
"The fire is out and we are removing some of the material so that it does not ignite," Johannesburg city spokeswoman Nana Hadebe said.
