A family of five was killed Saturday when a passenger bus collided with a motorcycle in Nepal, authorities said, DPA reported.
The motorcyclist, his wife and three children who were riding pillion were killed in the accident, in Morang district, some 800 kilometres south-east of the capital Kathmandu, police said.
Carelessness on the part of the driver of the passenger bus, who later absconded, had caused the accident, police said. They have launched a probe into the case.
Hundreds die in road accidents in Nepal every year. Accidents are common during the festive season of Dashain as those travelling home for the festival overcrowd the buses.
