A NATO soldier was killed Tuesday in southern Afghanistan, while a police officer was killed and three injured in the east of the country, officials said, DPA reported.
The foreign soldier, whose nationality was not revealed, died "following an insurgent attack," the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said.
A total of 594 US and NATO troops have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year, according to independent website iCasualties.org.
A police officer was killed and three others injured in a separate incident when a roadside bomb blew up their vehicle in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Monday, the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.
Taliban-led attacks are mainly concentrated in country's south and east.
