At least 13 people died and 15 more were injured when a passenger bus crashed Wednesday in Santiago del Estero province, north of the country, local authorities said.
The accident occurred early Wednesday morning in the provincial highway 176, near Nueva Esperanza locality of Santiago del Estero, some 1,243 kilometers north to Buenos Aires, Xinhua reported.
Police sources was quoted by local daily Nuevo Dairio as saying that the accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. local time (0530 GMT), when the tyre of the passenger bus of San Jose company went flat, so the bus turned over.
Nueva Esperanza's mayor Arnaldo Cazazola said 11 people died on the spot and two others died in the hospital.
Cazazola said eight of the injured are in critical conditions, including three teenagers. All of them were taken to Padilla Hospital in San Miguel de Tucuman city.
