A senior legislator of the co-ruling Free Democratic Party (FDP) was heading to Iran on Friday morning for political talks with Iranian officials, according to IRNA.
Elke Hoff, who heads also the German-Iranian Parliamentary Group, is to dwell on expanding parliamentary ties between Berlin and Tehran during her two-day visit.
The German MP is slated to meet with some of her Iranian counterparts in Majlis as well as foreign ministry officials.
Hoff's trip is also geared at setting the stage for next year's planned Iran visit by members of the German-Iranian Parliamentary Group.
At least two German parliamentary delegations have visited Iran in recent weeks.
