Portions of a terminal at an airport in the U.S. state of Texas were evacuated Friday after a suspicious package was found, an airport spokesman said, Xinhua reported.
Operations have returned to normal after officials used robots to move the package to a remote location for investigation, said David Magana, spokesman of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The initial report that led to the evacuation was for a suspicious vibrating noise coming from an overnight drop box at Terminal D at the airport.
Security officials evacuated an area of about five gates near the center of Terminal D as the investigation continued.
Two flights were delayed and several others were re-routed to other airports during the incident that lasted a little more than 2 hours.
The package was not immediately opened and the investigation continued. The airport doesn't expect to provide further updates on the package, Magana was quoted by local media as saying.
