Moscow's Domodedovo airport has been cut off its power supply, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Sunday.
The airport employees said the power outrage might have been caused by freezing rain that hit the Russian capital on Saturday.
The freezing rain turned roads into icy sheets in Moscow and prompted major railway traffic disturbances in the Moscow Region.
Some 100 localities were cut off electricity, a spokesman for the Moscow Region emergencies said.
Russia's chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko recommended Muscovites to stay at home to avoid being injured on icy roads.
