Police in the US state of Delaware are investigating the apparent slaying of a man who served under former president George W Bush and other administrations, according to reports Monday.
The body of 66-year-old John P Wheeler III was found Friday in a landfill. Police have ruled the death a homicide and were asking the public for help, Fox News reported.
Wheeler championed efforts to raise money to build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. He served as a special assistant to the top Air Force official under Bush and held posts in the administrations of former presidents Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush, dpa reported.
