According to the preliminary data, an explosive device was put into action by a suicide bomber at the Domodedovo airport, RIA Novosti reported.
Number of people killed in the terror attack in Domodedovo airport has risen to 35, said press secretary of the airport Yelena Galanova.
"Currently, there are 35 killed, 46 wounded," said Galanova.
According to her, the evacuation of injured people who are at the medical station of airport is continuing.
Bomber blew himself in the crowd of people at waiting hall, RIA Novosti reported, citing a source. The explosion power being equivalent to 5 kilograms of TNT, exploded by a suicide bomber in the capital's Domodedovo airport, was packed with metal striking elements, a source at the law-enforcement agencies of Russia, located at the scene, told RIA Novosti on Monday.
After the explosion at Domodedovo, 51 people were hospitalized, 35 of them are in serious state, Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia said.
"The bomb was packed with metal striking elements," the source said.
According to source, the terrorist went to arrival hall of international flights and was in a very dense crowd of people, so many were seriously injured.
Several people died and injured in the explosion, Sergei Izvolsky, official representative of the Russian Aviation Agency, told RIA Novosti.
"The explosion occurred in the arrival hall of international flights at 4:37 p.m. Several people died and injured," he said.
Alexander Neradko, the head of the Russian Aviation Agency, went to the airport.
