Security forces captured a Taliban key commander in Wardak province 35 km west of capital Kabul on Thursday, Shahidullah Shahid the spokesman for provincial administration said.
  
"Security forces raided a Taliban hideout in Syed Khil village of Syedabad district early morning today and captured a Taliban key commander namely Mullah Nasir," Shahid told Xinhua.
  
A laptop computer, several arms and ammunitions were also seized by the troops during the operation, he further said.
  
The arrested commander Mullah Nasir was the key Taliban figure in Wardak province and his arrest would help improve security there, Shahid emphasized.
  
Taliban militants fighting Afghan and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan have yet to make comment.
