The US on Saturday harshly condemned Syria's interruption of the internet on Friday and warned the Damascus regime that it would not be able to stop the political upheaval by trying to silence its people, dpa reported.
"We condemn any effort to suppress the Syrian people's exercise of their rights to free expression, assemlby, and association," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
She said it was the US administration's clear policy that no state may deny their citizens' access to the interet or other technical means of communication.
