A Lithuanian and a French warplane collided Tuesday over northern Lithuania but all the pilots escaped harm, military officials said in Vilnius, dpa reported.

The Lithuanian light jet fighter L-39 and the Mirage 2000 of the French air force collided for as yet unknown reasons over Siauliai. While the two Lithuanian pilots ejected to safety, the French pilot managed to land his plane.
