The United States is encouraged by remarks by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that two American hikers who have been imprisoned since 2009 may soon be released, DPA reported.
"We have followed this very closely and we are encouraged by what the Iranian government has said today," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in Washington Tuesday.
