The UN General Assembly voted 123 to 4 on Friday to restore Libya to the UN Human Rights Council, DPA reported.

Libya's membership in the 46-nation council in Geneva was suspended in May by the 193-nation assembly to punish the former regime of Moamer Gaddafi for the harsh crackdown on civilian protesters.

The current transitional government in Tripoli had demanded that its membership be restored. The four countries that voted against were Ecuador, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Bosnia.
