Russia proposes to restore diplomatic relations with Georgia and ready to introduce visa free regime
Russia is ready to introduce on a reciprocal basis visa free regime with Georgia and has proposed to restore diplomatic relations, a statement of Russian MFA Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich says in connection with the Georgia's announcement of visa free regime for citizens of Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
"We were and remain interested in strengthening ties between the peoples of Russia and Georgia. We are ready to introduce on a reciprocal basis non-visa regime for Georgian citizens. For this purpose it is necessary that the Georgian side provides reliable legal environment that would guarantee the security of Russian citizens visiting Georgia," the MFA spokesman said.
"We also propose to restore diplomatic relations between our countries," he said.
