An airplane ATR-72, which was carrying 41 people, crashed outside Tyumen on Monday, ITAR-TASS reported.

"The airplane crashed 30 kilometres away from Tyumen," spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Irina Andrianova told Itar-Tass. "According to preliminary reports, the airplane was carrying 39 passengers and two crewmembers," she said.

The reports about the casualties are being specified. "The report about the air crash came at about six hours Monday to the Ministry of Emergency Situations," she said.

ATR-72 is a passenger twin-engine turboprop medium-haul airliner. The airplane is designed for the transportation of up to 74 passengers at medium distances and is steered by two pilots.
