Serie A side Genoa said on Tuesday that Argentine striker Rodrigo Palacio is moving on to Inter Milan, dpa reported.

The club's website quoted club president Enrico Preziosi as saying that "Palacio asked to be sold."

The 30-year-old leaves the seaside club after three seasons with 38 goals scored. It appears that he asked to leave following criticism from some fans after a league game in April.

Inter are said to have agreed on a transfer fee of 11 million euros (14 million dollars) and appear set to offer the Argentine a three-year contract worth 2 million euros a year.

Genoa avoided relegation in the last game of the season and played their closing games behind closed doors following fan riots. Preziosi said he looks to overhaul team and staff by the end of the month. dpa cag bag Author: Alberto Cagliano
