Russia calls on Israel to stop illegal settlement activity in the West Bank. This was declared Friday at the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on Tel Aviv's plans to construct new housing in several settlements, The Voice of Russia reported.
"According to information received, the Israeli government has announced plans to build 851 new housing units in a number of settlements in the West Bank. Such news is always received in Moscow with great concern," - said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.
Russia has repeatedly pointed out that all Israeli settlements established on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, are illegal, and settlement activity, including in already existing settlements must be stopped.
