Protests against a US-made anti-Islam video turned violent in Pakistan on Friday when a driver for a local television broadcaster was killed in the north-west city of Peshawar, dpa reported.
Mohammed Amir was trying to take a reporting team from ARY News closer to a cinema set on fire by the protesters, when he was hit by a bullet allegedly fired by police, said Awias Toheed, senior executive director of the TV company.
Violent demonstrations have been reported elsewhere in the country including Rawalpindi.
