Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych's Regions Ukraine party and its communist ally were credited with a combined 40 per cent of the vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections, according to exit poll, dpa reported.
The opposition Motherland party, headed by incarcerated leader Yulia Tymoshenko, was on track to receive between 23 per cent and 25 per cent of the popular vote, while support for the UDAR party led by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko was estimated at between 13 per cent and 15 per cent.
The nationalist Freedom party, which currently has no presence in parliament and has not yet indicated whether it would join the other opposition parties in an alliance, was credited with 11-12 per cent.
