US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fainted and suffered a concussion, the State Department said Saturday.
She was recovering at home and being monitored regularly by her doctors, dpa reported.
Clinton cancelled a visit to Marrakesh, Morocco, for a Friends of Syria conference this week because of health reasons.
"While suffering from a stomach virus, Secretary Clinton became dehydrated and fainted, sustaining a concussion," said Philippe Reines, deputy assistant secretary of state. "She will continue to work from home next week.
