France on Thursday said negotiations at UN headquarters on a draft resolution on Syria's chemical weapons were proceeding as it expected, dpa reported.
Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said the three elements proposed by France have "advanced as expected" in the talks with his counterparts from the US, Russia, France, Britain and China.
These include a reference to Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which would allow the UN Security Council to impose sanctions on Syria.
