Russia not going to restore Soviet Union
Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 12
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the officials of Russia haven't stated that the country is going to restore the Soviet Union.
Lavrov made his remarks at a press conference with his Latvian counterpart, Edgars Rinkevics, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Jan. 12.
"You first said that all are frightened by Russia's desire to restore the Soviet Union, the pursuit of collecting Russian lands," he said.
"I'd like to ask, if you have specific sources, to provide me with quotations from speeches of any Russian official representative, who offered to restore the Union or collect the Russian world," he said, responding to a question from a Latvian media outlet representative.
