Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, approved on Jan. 27 a declaration recognizing Russia as an aggressor country, the Interfax news agency reported.
The Verkhovna Rada also urged the parliaments of other states and international organizations to do the same and increase the pressure on Russia.
The Ukrainian parliament also called for listing the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" and "Lugansk People's Republic" as terrorist organizations.
The parliament's decision, taken at an extraordinary meeting on Jan. 27, received 271 votes for from 289 registered MPs.
