Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport has been temporarily closed following a bomb scare in a Jet Airways aircraft that arrived from New Delhi on Sunday, local media reports said quoting government officials, Xinhua reported.

Deputy inspector general of Nepal police, Pratap Singh Thapa, told local media that all incoming and outgoing flights have been halted following the bomb threat at Nepal's only international airport.

All the passengers in the aircraft were evacuated from the plane and their baggage are currently being screened, Thapa added.

The threat was communicated to Jet Airways office in Kathmandu from the Indian capital New Delhi, according to reports.

The plane has been isolated and a bomb disposal squad of the Nepalese Army has been deployed for further investigation, according to officials.
