British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.56 percent, or 41.81 points, to close at 7,372.61 points, Xinhua reported.
The multinational health care company NMC Health was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.61 percent. 3i Group, the British private equity and venture capital company, dropped 3.39 percent, and Mondi, an international packaging and paper group, fell 3.10 percent.
Fresnillo, the major multinational metal company, soared 3.27 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Bunzl and BT Group increased by 1.47 percent and 1.39 percent respectively.
