Thousands of Indonesians gathered outside the US embassy in Jakarta on Saturday to express their anger over the recent US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel, The Jerusalem Post reports.
The protesters carried large Palestinian flags and dressed in traditional Arab head dress to show their solidarity with the Palestinian claim that they, too, have a right to Jerusalem as a future capital for a Palestinian state.
The protesters changed "God is great" and raised their fists in the air while carrying signs saying "Pray for Palestine."
Indonesian security services secured the American embassy during the event.
