At least six people were killed and 12 others injured on Monday in a four-vehicle pileup in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, the Federal Highway Police said, Trend reports citing Xinhua.
According to its report, the accident occurred early Monday morning on highway BR-290, in the municipality of Rio Pardo, 150 km west of the state capital of Porto Alegre.
The accident involved a car, a van, a bus and a truck carrying logs, said the report.
The police stated that the bus and the van were transporting soldiers from the Army's 9th Armored Cavalry Regiment to their barracks.
