Ukraine's President met Yanukovich to discuss results of the Moscow visit

(ForUm) - Victor Yushchenko has met with Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych to sum up results of the premiers recent visit to Russia, President's press office reported.

They discussed the issue of gas supplies to Ukraine in 2006-2007. Yanukovych said his meetings with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and President Vladimir Putin convinced him gas prices would not be raised this year. The Head of State noted the Premier had managed to ensure gas supplies stipulated in the January 2006 agreement between Ukraine and Russia, reports Trend.

Yushchenko reiterated that the new cabinet should correlate their work with the National Unity Pact, particularly in the areas of home and foreign policy and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Yanukovych assured him his cabinet would observe all the points of the pact.

They also discussed Ukraines integration with NATO and WTO, the prime minister's staff policy and the language issue. The premier said he saw these goals as his priorities and promised to pursue them in accordance with the NU Pact.
