Ukraine intends to step up cooperation with World Bank
(ForUm) - First Vice Prime Minister Mykola Azarov met with World Bank regional director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Paul Birmingham to discuss preparation a new cooperation strategy between Ukraine and the WB for 2007 - 2012 and implementation of the Second Development Policy Loan project, Cabinet press office reported.
As Mykola Azarov stressed, the Ukrainian Government is interested in the closest cooperation with the World Bank in all projects. He stressed on the need to efficiently implement such projects as modernization of the State Tax Administration, support for the judicial reform and improvement of finance management, reports Trend.
According to Mr Birmingham, the WB's cooperation with Ukraine is one of the bank's priorities. As he noted the WB is working hard in drafting a new partnership strategy for 2007 - 2012 and counts on the Ukrainian Government's support
