Ukraine's President met with Prosecutor General to discuss fight against corruption

(ForUm) - Victor Yushchenko has met with Prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko, president's press office reported.

The President charged the Prosecutor General's Office to formulate a long-term strategy to fight corruption and bribery and show the results to the society. He insisted that General Office of Public Prosecutor should coordinate its efforts with other law enforcement agencies, reports Trend.

Yushchenko also demanded of Medvedko to be personally in charge of controversial criminal cases. He said Ukrainians should see that the Prosecutor General's Office is combating crime efficiently.

In his turn, Medvedko informed the President of his recent meetings with prosecutors to sum up results of their work in the past several months.
