Belarus , Bulgaria plan to sign treaty on labor rights of citizens in 2007

(www.belta.by) - In 2007, Belarus and Bulgaria plan to sign a treaty on labor rights of citizens, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Belarus, Petko Ganchev, said after the ceremony of signing of the treaty which took place at the Belarusian foreign ministry on February 21. Viktor Golovanov, the Belarus ' justice minister, put his signature in the document representing Belarus .

Now, when the treaty has been signed, Bulgaria will recognize the record of work and all the documents confirming qualifications of Belarusian citizens, according to the diplomat. Bulgarian citizens will enjoy equal rights with regard to Belarus .

At the moment specialists with the Bulgarian justice ministry are working on several bilateral agreements to settle issues in all spheres of the bilateral cooperation, the ambassador said. The sides are also working on making sure that the legal basis of relations between Belarus and Bulgaria has long-term status. Many of the effective bilateral agreements are short-term like an agreement on cooperation between the ministries of education, culture and the national academies of science, which needs to be continued this year.

According to Petko Ganchev, the treaty on legal assistance in civil cases is fundamental for the two countries; it will be followed by other agreements and treaties that will lay the solid groundwork of the Belarusian-Bulgarian cooperation.
