Ukraine President meets Georgia prime minister

( For-Um ) - Victor Yushchenko has met with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli for talks, president's press office .

The President said Georgia was one of Ukraine's most important regional partners.

They spoke about economic issues, especially how to implement projects to achieve energy security, one of them being creating a pipeline network to deliver energy from Asia to European consumers.

Yushchenko and Noghaideli also discussed a GUAM project to build a railroad to connect Baku, Tbilisi and Kars, and a plan to open a ferryboat route between the Ukrainian port of Kerch and Georgia's Batumi. The Ukrainian leader said our country was ready to help Georgia build railroads and develop Tbilisi's subway.

Acting Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko, Culture Minister Yuriy Bohutsky, MP Liliya Grygorovych and Ukrspetsexport Director General Serhiy Bondarchuk were present at the meeting.
