( F ) - The President Victor Yushchenko and the Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting on Saturday. They have agreed that the working group on preparation of early parliamentary elections should propose their package by May 16.

Ukraine's newly appointed secretary of the National Security Council, Ivan Plyushch told reporters, "These bills - the most important of them being a parliamentary resolution to ensure that the snap poll is organized and conducted properly - will enable the president to make his final decision," he said, adding that the working group would then compromise on a new election date.

Plyushch said Yushchenko believed the group was inefficient and described this meeting as a "weekly report and plan for the next few days," according to the president's press office.
