Egypt bus crash kills 14, injures eight
( Reuters ) - An Egyptian public bus collided head-on with a minibus on a highway on Egypt's northern Mediterranean coast on Thursday, killing 14 people and injuring eight, the state news agency MENA reported.
MENA said the crash occurred on a road linking the coastal cities of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh.
Reckless driving, lax traffic rules and poor road conditions cause many road crashes in Egypt. A series of road and rail accidents in the past few years triggered a public outcry over the government's handling of road and transport safety.
