Turkey, Ankara / Тrend corr A. Alaskarov / The head of Turkish Erciyes University Chengiz Utash presented a canvas by Azerbaijani artist Ali Verdiyev to the Turkish President Abdullah Gul when he was recently visiting his native town of Kayseri, Turkiye newspaper reported.
Azerbaijani artist painted the picture of Gul on his own initiative. The portrait was painted in oils, and specialists consider it to be a professional work, according to the Turkiye.
Well-known Azerbaijani artist, professor Ali Veriyev, and his family have been living in Kayseri for a long time. He is teaching at the faculty of fine arts at Erciyes University and takes an active part in the activities of local Azerbaijani diaspora. Besides Verdiyev, a large group of Azerbaijani musicians are teaching at Erciyes. Verdiyev's son is a popular attorney in Kayseri, Turkiye reported.
