( Reuters ) - The head of the Turkish state lottery, Ihya Balak, was shot dead on Friday in his office in Ankara by an employee of the lottery, television stations and state-run Anatolian news agency said.
A lottery employee said Balak had been shot around 9:30 am (0730 GMT) but could not confirm whether Balak had died. He said police had sealed off the building.
CNN Turk television said the attacker was a former inspector at the state lottery, who shot Balak in the head.
No further details were immediately available.
