Turkish President heads Japan

Turkish President Abdullah Gul will travel to Japan on Tuesday, June 3rd upon an invitation by Japanese Emperor Akihito, reported New Anatolian.

State ministers Kursad Tuzmen and Mehmet Simsek and a delegation of Turkish businessmen is said to accompany President Abdullah Gul, who will be the first ever Turkish president to visit Japan.

Gul has already gone to Japan 5 years ago when he was Foreign Minister. President Gul is set to meet Emperor Akihito, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, the President of the House of Councillors in Japan Satsuki Eda and Japanese House of Representatives Speaker Yohei Kono in Tokyo.

Abdullah Gul will attend a ceremony in the city of Kushimoto to remember the sailors of a sank Turkish frigate "Ertugrul."
