Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that Turkey's differences are Turkey's richness, reported Worldbulletin.
Gul, who was in the western province of Izmir to attend the 9th Annual North South Europe Economic Forum, spoke to AA.
Gul said that he did not approve the illegal demonstrations which took place in several cities in Turkey in recent days. He added that involvement of children and innocent people in such demonstrations could not be forgiven.
Gul also said that the 9th Annual North South Europe Economic Forum's taking place in Izmir was very important. He added that Izmir was one of the most important industry, culture and commerce centers of Turkey.
Gul said that economic issues as well as political developments were discussed in the forum.
He added that participants mainly focused on global economic crisis during their speeches. Referring to his speech, Gul said that the crisis created opportunities, but it could also be dangerous.
Gul said that it was necessary to take measures, adding that global crisis concerned everybody. Gul also noted that it was time for Turkey to make its structure stronger.
