Turkish companies to attend in Britain's int'l tourism fair

About 40 Turkish companies would join the World Travel Market 2008--the third biggest tourism fair in the world, a statement of the ministry said, reported World Bulletin.

The fair will take place in the British capital of London on November 10-13, and Turkey will have a 730 square-meter stand.

Tourist sites in Turkey will be promoted during the fair, and Turkey will allocate a particular place for promotion of Istanbul, which has been designated as the European Capital of Culture for 2010.

Culture & Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay will visit the fair, have talks with British tour operators and hold a press conference.

Turkey will also be promoted in posters to be hung at the Piccadilly square in London, at the airport, in taxis and fair area; as well as in the official booklet and web-site of the fair.

Staged annually in London under one roof, World Travel Market is a must attend business to business exhibition that provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

48,111 travel industry professionals attended 2007's fair which attracted about 24,000 visitors.
