Main aim of democratic solution to Kurdish problem is national unity: Turkish PM

The main aim of the democratic solution to the Kurdish problem is to achieve a national unity, Turkish Prime minister Recep Tayyip Edogan said in Konya, CNN Turk reported.

He said the democratic solution is aimed to unit the people.

At the meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that, despite anything, the AKP will solve the Kurdish problem in the country. Earlier, the Prime Minister met with the leader of Kurd Democratic Society Party (DTP), Ahmet Türk. The head of government said that the meeting was positive and the settlement of the Kurdish problem will enter an active phase in the near future.

According to the DTP leader, Türk, the meeting initiated a dialogue between the parties. Turkey's key opposition leader, Deniz Baykal also believes that the authorities are negotiating with people who promote terrorism in the region. On Aug. 13, the Turkish Interior Minister, Bashir Atalay also met with Türk.

Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (JDP) and the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have the same thought, leader of the Turkish opposition National Movement Party (NMP), Devlet Bahceli said at a news conference earlier.

"It is impossible to win terrorism without combating it," Deniz Baykal, Leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), said to news conference.

A total of 36 PKK terrorists have left the Mahmur terrorist camp in the northern Iraq upon the imprisoned PKK terrorist organization Leader, Abdullah Ocalan's request. The terrorists surrendered to the police. The government expected around 150 PKK members to surrender to Turkish security forces, Turkish Interior Minister Bashir Atalay said. The terrorists walked across the Iraqi-Turkish Habur border gate, where they were met with solemn with the PKK flags. The Turkish opposition has protested this. The terrorist were released after interrogation.

The PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) terrorists from the Mahmur terrorist camp in the northern Iraq should not be met with solemn, Head of the Turkish Armed Forces General Staff, Ilker Bashbug said.

Erdogan said some wish to obstacle the national unity in the country.

Not the AKP, but the nation is the author of the democratic solution to the Kurdish problem, he added.
