Libyan Ministers meet Turkish Counterparts In Ankara

Libyan Secretary for Economy, Trade & Investment Muhammad Ali al-Huwayz and Secretary for Agriculture, Maritime & Animal Resources Abu Bakr Mabruk al-Mansuri met on Saturday with Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Speaking at the meeting, Yildirim said Turkey and Libya had agreed to boost cooperation in all areas during a recent visit by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tripoli including transportation, HaberTurk reported.

Yildirim said the two countries agreed to increase the number of flights to Tripoli and Benghazi, adding that maritime transportation should also be considered as a priority.

Al-Huwayz said on his part that the removal of visa requirements between Turkey and Libya would further improve relations.

The Libyan minister said that the two countries should also make joint investments in Africa, adding that Turkey and Libya had "an important opportunity to form an alliance in the Mediterranean."

The two Libyan ministers also met with Turkish Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker as part of their visit to Ankara.
