Turkish ambassador to Israel arrives in Ankara to meet with Ehud Barak (UPDATE)

Turkish ambassador to Israel Oguz Celikkol arrived in Istanbul from Tel Aviv early in the morning. Afterwards, he went to Ankara, CNN Turk website said.

Celikkol became one of the central figures in the diplomatic scandal between Israel and Turkey.  He said the reason for his arrival was the visit of Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak to Ankara on Sunday.

The scandal broke out between the countries on Tuesday because of the abusive actions of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon towards Turkish diplomat.

Turkish ambassador Celikkol was summoned to Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Ayalon to explain the fact that the film "Valley of the Wolves" was broadcasted on the Turkish TV channels. Israel found this film anti-Semitic.

During the meeting, Ayalon refused from shaking hands with the Ambassador, as well as forced him to wait for a long time.

During the meeting, Ayalon made him to seat on a low sofa, and ordered that there was only a flag of Israel on the table.

Ayalon has already apologized for his action, promising to be more careful while speaking to foreign diplomats.

Speaking to reporters at the Turkish airport, Celikkol said that Turkey accepted an apology from Israel which wanted to hear.

According to Ambassador, who was appointed the post three months ago, Ayalon, inviting him to a meeting, did not inform him about the intention to protest due to broadcasting anti-Israeli moments in the Turkish film "Valley of the Wolves."

"I went to the meeting within the familiarization visit. There were no protests and debates over the" Valley of the Wolves " on the agenda," Turkish ambassador said.

According to him, he was not surprised by the fact that he was met by photographers and reporters, as well as photography is very common in Israel.

The ambassador also stressed that the room, where the meeting took place, was small. There were four chairs and a small sofa, where he sat down with the counselor of the embassy.

Ayalon addressed reporters in Hebrew, knowing that the ambassador and his adviser speak English. But Turkish ambassador was not embarrassed. Only two hours later one phoned the embassy in Tel Aviv and said that Deputy Minister appealed to the Israeli reporters in Hebrew with the words: "Take a picture that he [Ambassador to Turkey] sits below me," Turkish ambassador said.

He added that the Turkish Embassy in Israel has suffered hard periods, but the scandal was resolved by diplomatic means.
