Turkish Chief of Staff meets Kazakh Defence Minister

Turkey’s Chief of Staff General İlker Basbug visited Kazakhstan for talks with Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov. The agenda focused on improved cooperation between the armies of Turkey and Kazakhstan, TRT World reported.

Turkey's Chief of Staff General İlker Basbug visited Kazakhstan for talks with Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov. The agenda focused on improved cooperation between the armies of Turkey and Kazakhstan, TRT World reported.

The Kazakh military formally welcomed Basbug at a ceremony and national anthems of both countries were played. Then, Turkish and Kazakh delegations held talks.

Kazakh Minister Dzhaksybekov said that Turkish Armed Forces, which acts always in cooperation with Kazakh Armed Forces, provides information and training support.

Reminding that dozens of Kazakh youngsters receive military training in Turkey, Dzhaksybekov demanded from the Turkish Armed Forces to extend information and training support in joint war games in the future.

Turkish General Basbug for his part expressed willingness for boosted cooperation between the two armed forces. The Turkish Chief of Staff also underlined that Turkish-Kazakh relations run on a smooth path and appreciated Dzhaksybekov's invitation.
