Turkish police confiscated 65 kg of plastic explosives in southeastern Turkey on Sunday, Xinhua quoted the semi-official Anatolia news agency as reporting.
Turkish anti-terror teams staged an operation in downtown Diyarbakir, and found 65 kg of plastic explosives in a LPG tank, which belonged to the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), according to the report.
The police arrested three suspected people in the operation, and a wide-scale investigation was under way, the report said.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. Some 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the PKK since it took up arms in 1984 in order to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey.
The Turkish military has launched frequent operations to eradicate PKK militants in the country's east and southeast, and conducted air strikes against PKK bases in northern Iraq.
