Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay received Lloyd Austin, commanding general of United States Forces-Iraq on Sept.28, the Anadolu news agency reported.
The sides mulled security issues, as well as the activities of the PKK terrorist organization, Atalay's recent visit to Iraq and his meeting with the leader of the Kurdish Regional Government in northern Iraq, Massoud Barzani.
Austin also met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Isik Kosaner. The meeting discussed the situation in Iraq and regional security issues.
