Turkey is trying to contribute to peace and stability in the region, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said at the parliament on Friday, TRT reported.
Addressing to the General Assembly, Gul noted about increasing international reputation of Turkey and its growing influence.
"Turkey is trying to contribute to peace and stability in the region by creating an atmosphere of cooperation, and promote prosperity and happiness of the peoples in the region," Gul said.
In his speech, he also touched addressing of the Cyprus problem, terrorism, the Kurdish issue and relations with the European Union.
"We have to implement all reforms that will benefit to our country," Gul said.
