The Syrian city of Latakia hosted a meeting of the Turkish-Syrian Council on strategic cooperation, CNN Turk reported.
The Turkish delegation comprising 12 ministers, including Interior Minister Beshir Atalay, was headed by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Davutoglu said Turkey and Syria have the same views on the issue of combating terrorism.
"If we cooperate with all neighboring countries at this level, the tensions in the region, including the problem of terrorism will run out," Davutoglu said.
Atalay, in turn, stressed the country's readiness to hold joint anti-terror operations with neighboring countries.
