Turkish security forces have discovered a large cache of weapons and explosive materials in a minibus in the eastern province of Van, CNN Turk reported on Friday.
On Wednesday, a group of people aboard a minibus did not heed police orders to halt and sped off, Press TV reported.
The police then opened fire on the vehicle and followed in hot pursuit.
Police forces later found the vehicle abandoned but were unable to apprehend the terrorist suspects, who had fled the scene.
The weapons stash contained 26 kilograms of military-grade C-4 plastic explosives, 27 rocket launchers, and 65 hand grenades.
The munitions had been hidden among sacks of flour and pasta. An explosive ordinance disposal team was called to the site to safely transport the weapons to a secure location for further investigation.
Police have also launched an operation to hunt down the criminals.
